Principal / Associate Transport Planner

They are seeking an experienced Principal or Associate Transport Planner to lead and support their transportation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Assessing Development Applications: Reviewing and analysing transport and traffic implications for each development proposal, ensuring compliance with local planning policies and standards
  • Traffic Impact Assessments: Preparing, reviewing, or providing input on Traffic Impact Assessments (TIAs) and related reports to evaluate potential effects on existing transport networks
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaising with clients, local authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders to gather information, address concerns, and facilitate smooth communication throughout the application process
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all applications adhere to relevant transportation policies, guidelines, and standards, and assisting in obtaining necessary permits or approvals
  • Report Preparation: Drafting clear and comprehensive reports, summaries, and recommendations for submission to planning authorities
  • Project Management: Managing multiple applications concurrently (20-30), prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines, and maintaining organised records of all correspondence and documentation
     

The ideal Principal or Associate Transport Planner will have the following experience and qualifications:

 

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in transport planning, with a strong portfolio of projects
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g. AutoCAD, GIS, TRICS, LinSig, etc.) is desirable
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIHT, RTPI) is preferred
